This notice explains how Recon Aerial Surveys (a trading name of KF01 Ltd, "we", "us"), a UK drone-survey operator based in the Midlands, collects and uses personal data when you contact us through this website. We are the data controller for that information under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us:
- Enquiry form — the name, email address, phone number and site postcode you enter, the survey type you select, and any notes you add.
- If you email or call us — the contact details and content of that message.
- Website analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, referrer, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser). This is collected using cookies. It never includes the content of your enquiry, and we don't use it for advertising.
We use Google Analytics cookies to measure site usage. We do not use cookies for advertising and we never sell your personal data. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, prepare a fixed quote, assess site feasibility (airspace, access and permissions) and carry out any survey you go on to commission. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to a request you initiated) and, where you go ahead, taking steps to enter into a contract. We never use your details for marketing without your clear consent.
Who processes it
A small number of trusted providers process data on our behalf, under their own terms and security commitments:
- FormSubmit — delivers enquiry-form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Workspace — our email (where enquiries are received and answered).
- Vercel — website hosting and content delivery; processes standard server request logs.
- Google Fonts — serves the site's fonts; this may log your IP address as part of the request.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) — website-usage analytics; sets cookies and processes usage data on Google's infrastructure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your request and for reasonable business records (for example, quotes and completed jobs). If your enquiry doesn't lead anywhere, we delete it on request or in routine clear-outs. Ask us any time and we'll remove your details.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email keaton@reconaerial.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No transmission over the internet is ever completely secure, but we take care to limit what we collect and who can access it.
Changes
